The Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Research on Food Security Policy, Capacity and Influence (PRCI Project) held its second global gathering from 6-8 March in Washington, DC. The theme of this event is “Partnering to Build Capacity in Impactful Policy Applied Research”: PRCI Achievements, Lessons and Next Steps”. Under this year’s theme of the second Global Gathering centered on “Partnering to Strengthen Capacity for Applied Policy Research with Impact: Accomplishments under PRCI, Lessons, and Next Steps.” This gathering promises to be a forum for knowledge exchange strategic discussions.

BAME researchers and Director took part in a three-day global meeting with other partners to assess the impact of the Feed the Future Innovation Lab project for research into food security policy, capacity and influence (PRCI).

The ResearcherNdèye Fatou Faye Manémade presentations in plenary. These presentations focused on the research results of the collaboration with PRCI and RENAPRI. At the end, a country brief has been produced on « Policy Responses to Mitigate the Effects of Global Economic Shocks : Lessons Learned from the Senegalese Experience « and »Analysis of rice demand in Senegal”.

The PRCI project has enabled ISRA-BAME to communicate effectively on its achievements and position itself with decision-makers to bring its research results to the highest level. It is through this project ISRA-BAME joined the African Network of Agricultural Policy Research Institutes (ANAPRI) implemented under the auspices of USAID’s Feed the Future initiative, the PRCI initiative has served as a catalyst for ANAPRI’s journey to become a leading think tank on the continent.

Le laboratoire d’innovation Feed the Future pour la recherche sur les politiques, les capacités et l’influence en matière de sécurité alimentaire (projet PRCI) a tenu sa deuxième réunion mondiale du 6 au 8 mars à Washington, DC. Le thème de cet événement est « Partenariat pour renforcer les capacités en matière de recherche appliquée sur les politiques ayant un impact » : réalisations, enseignements et prochaines étapes du PRCI. Le thème de cette année du deuxième rassemblement mondial était centré sur « Partenariat pour renforcer les capacités de recherche appliquée sur les politiques ayant un impact : réalisations du PRCI, enseignements et prochaines étapes ». Cette réunion promet d’être un forum d’échange de connaissances et de discussions stratégiques.

Les chercheurs et le directeur du BAME ont participé à une réunion mondiale de trois jours avec d’autres partenaires pour évaluer l’impact du projet Feed the Future Innovation Lab pour la recherche sur la politique, la capacité et l’influence en matière de sécurité alimentaire (PRCI).

La chercheuse Ndèye Fatou Faye Mané a fait des présentations en plénière. Ces présentations ont porté sur les résultats de recherche issus de la collaboration avec le PRCI et le RENAPRI . A l’issue, une note pays a été produite sur « Les réponses politiques pour atténuer les effets des chocs économiques mondiaux : leçons tirées de l’expérience sénégalaise » et « L’analyse de la demande en riz au Sénégal ».

Le projet PRCI a permis à l’ISRA-BAME de communiquer efficacement sur ses réalisations et de se positionner auprès des décideurs pour porter ses résultats de recherche au plus haut niveau. C’est à travers ce projet que l’ISRA-BAME a rejoint le Réseau africain des instituts de recherche sur les politiques agricoles (ANAPRI) mis en œuvre sous les auspices de l’initiative Feed the Future de l’USAID, l’initiative PRCI a servi de catalyseur au parcours de l’ANAPRI pour devenir un think tank de premier plan sur le continent.
